Woodstock Vermont Guide

Vermont is a magical place no matter what time of year you go. In the summer there are amazing hikes, fall there is beautiful foliage, but in the winter Vermont becomes winter wonderland with endless skiing! This weekend we did a little girls trip up to Woodstock Vermont. It was actually my first time in the charming little town, though it had been on my list for a while.

I recommend leaving early in the morning to beat any traffic. From Boston it was a 2.5 hour drive. We still haven’t had any real snow in Boston so it was great to see all the snow capped mountains and snow covered pines as we drove up, seriously some beautiful scenery. Once we arrived in Woodstock we checked out the down town area, it is so charming!

First we decided to head over to Sugarbush Farm. There they offer free cheese tasting, you have to try their award winning 3 years aged sharp cheddar! They also do maple syrup tasting, the farm is 500 acres and they tap the trees right in the property. It was way to icey to check out the maple walk but we took in some amazing views from the sugar house, and made friends with some horses. If you’re visiting Woodstock you have to stop by Sugarbush Farm, in addition to cheese and maple syrup they also sell all kinds of jams and spreads!

After a little more exploring down town we were so ready for lunch. We ended up at Worthy Kitchen. Amazing farm to table food and a great craft beer selection. Me and Lauren got the Mac and cheese and I added buffalo chicken to mine. They also had a great selection of hard cider and cocktails for those who aren’t big on beer. The casual friendly atmosphere was the perfect retreat from the cold. Lana got the Lamb Grilled Cheese and truffle fries, you should all know by now truffles fries are my weakness and these did not disappoint. We also split so cinnamon sugar donut hole that were fresh from the over warm and gooey! It is definitely worth a stop next time your in the are.

There are so many great places to stay in Woodstock, lots of bed and breakfast, cozy inns, and even Air BnB options. Something for every type of traveler. If you’re looking for nearby ski options Suicide Six one of the older ski resorts in the country is just a quick drive down the road! Let me know you favorite things to do in Woodstock Vermont!
