Somewhere North of Augusta

Growing up in the city people have often accused me of not having a proper appreciation for nature. It is true that I love the city and I really can’t imagine living anywhere else. But sometimes you just need to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. Nothing better than heading north to Maine, so far up there my cellphone barely works and there is no wifi. I’m serious there is no wifi anywhere up there! My boyfriend has an amazing cabin north of Augusta right on the lake and we love going up for the weekend to relax and enjoy some quiet.

We didn’t have the best weather but we made the most of it. I got in some reading on Saturday and then we went out to dinner at the cute little cafe in town. The cafe is normally only open for breakfast and lunch but they were doing a special dinner with a local band this weekend so we went and checked it out and had a great time!

I may not be the first to suggest a hike through the woods but I appreciate time in nature, I probably take the city for granted more than I do nature. I’ve spent my whole life in the city that I’m sure there are times when I don’t realize all the opportunities and experiences that are available to me because of it. So when I get the chance to go spend a little time in the woods I actually really love it.
