My Favorite Spot — Dennis

People often ask me my favorite spot in New England, it’s impossible to choose! New England is so diverse and changes with the seasons. My favorite spot on the cape during the summer is totally different from my favorite spot in Maine. Today I’m happy to introduce a new series, My Favorite Spot, I will feature my favorite spots in various towns and New England getaways. This will be updated throughout the year so you can get an inside look at all the best spots throughout the seasons.

Today I’m happy to start with Dennis, Cape Cod. Dennis will always hold a special place in my heart, I grew up coming here every summer, just like my dad and granddad did. Cape Cod has a little something for everyone, beaches, hiking trails, golf, water sports, fishing, and so much more!

One of my favorite spots in Dennis is Sesuit Harbor Cafe. Located right on the water, sesuit harbor sits on the bay side of the cape. If you don’t know where to look for the cafe you will miss it, why? Because it is located behind the marina! Sit and watch boats get out in the water, watch people take off on jet skis and enjoy some of the freshest seafood out there.

I stopped by the other day for a mid day snack, I walked around the the raw bar and ordered some oysters. If you’ve never been you have to try their lobster roll! Sit outside at a picnic table and watch boats come and go from the marina. Sesuit Harbor is definitely worth a stop if you’re new to Dennis, or have been coming to Dennis for years and never been! After take a drive along the water and take in the amazing views!

Hydrangea Heaven

My favorite flowers without a doubt are hydrangeas! I love the blue and purple shades that bloom all over the cape and islands in the summer. I especially love that they match my new Lilly Pulitzer romper!

Nantucket is so beautiful this time of year, between all the sea roses covering Sconset the sea salt filled air, and hydrangeas everywhere! If you only have one weekend to get away this summer I would highly recommend Nantucket. It is my favorite destination!

My romper is from Lilly, I love a Karlie Romper, it’s really light and airy, so even though it is long sleeve you won’t be too hot!

Seersucker at Sankaty

New England has light houses scattered along the shores but my favorite light house is probably Sankaty Light in Siasconset. A couple weeks ago I stayed at The Summer House in Siasconset and got to visit my favorite light house.

Love staying in Siasconset, the Summer House is the perfect location to the beach, Sankaty, and Sconset market. They have charming cottages and a beach front bar!

My dress is from vineyard vines, it is perfect for work or a casual day out and about, and it’s now on sale! I love the red, white, and blue seersucker! And the vineyard vines weekender is perfect for a quick getaway. Can’t wait to go bACK!

Sconset with Capture Nantucket

I love exploring Nantucket! I am pretty comfortable saying Nantucket is my favorite place on earth! A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to explore Sconset with Capture Nantucket. Eleanor started capture Nantucket to help people capture the beauty of Nantucket for themselves. This is a photo tour, she helped me find all the best spots, told me about the history of Sconset, and gave me some killer editing tips! It was a foggy morning in Sconset but my and my mom had so much fun with Eleanor and we even got to grab a cookie at Sconset market. If you haven’t had one, it will change your life!

I had visited Nantucket a bunch but had never made it out to Sconset, so I decided to to the iPhone Tour with Capture Nantucket. They have tours for those just taking shots on their phone, or for more advanced DSLR users. I chose to explore Sconset but Capture Nantucket has a variety of locations and packages so you can get the most of your tour! They are also reasonably priced, our iPhone Tour was just $75 per person.

I got so many great shots and got to learn so much from Eleanor about photography and the history of Sconset!

This madras dress is what summer dreams are made of! Now on sale from Vineyard Vines, and for cloudy mornings I love this VV denim jacket, it even has seersucker detailing on the collar and cuffs. Thank you so much VV for making sure I’m dressed for the good life all summer long! #edsftg

Ocean House Secret Garden

The New England coast is sprinkled with charming and extraordinary hotels and destinations. Since 1868 the Ocean House has sat in Watch Hill Rhode Island, known for its stunning yellow facade it is architecturally breath taking. But it is the stunning ocean views that always get me. The historic building closed in 2003 for renovations, today’s structure retains the victorian charm of the original but holds all the modern conveniences we expect from top-luxury resorts.

Now that summer has finally decided to arrive in New England the Ocean House Secret Garden has returned. Sip Veuve Clicquot while you take in the magnificent views of the Ocean House beach. The Veuve Clicquot themed garden is absolutely fabulous, relax on a couch and enjoy the ocean breeze. They have a delightful menu of snacks, from charcuterie boards to lobster rolls.

Me and the girls headed down to Watch Hill last weekend and had to check out the famed Secret Garden. Ocean House is always impeccable, in service, views, and menu! I stuck with a classic glass of Veuve but they have a fantastic cocktail menu available. Can’t wait to go back again soon this summer!
