Best Apple Orchards to visit this Fall

Nothing quite says fall in New England like apple picking. This long weekend is the perfect time to head to your favorite apple orchard! The past few years I have gone to Honey Pot Hill Orchards in Stow Massachusetts. The donuts there are hands down the best cider donuts I have ever had!! There is plenty to do from apple picking to the largest hedge maze in North American. I actually wore the same shirt I did last year, a simple chambray button down but this year I went with a pair of jeans and my hunter boots. My roommates and I had a fantastic time, they had never been to Honey Pot before!

There are tons of great apple orchards to visit. In the past Mike and I have stopped at small orchards on our way home from the cabin in Maine there are tons of small family owned farms sprinkled through out New England. For a quick ride from Boston though Honey Pot is definitely my favorite. Some other great orchards include:

1. Tougas Farms

Located in Northborough MA it is just under an hour from Boston. They have apple picking and a huge pumpkin patch!

2. Parlee Farms

If you’re north of Boston Parlee Farms is a great option, 45 minutes north of Boston in Tyngsborough. It’s a large property and definitely has some great photo ops!

3. Smolak Farms

Probably one of the closest to Boston Smolak is just a 30 minute drive to North Andover. Tons of fun activities for families. I find the apple picking is a little not expensive than other farms but it is definitely a beautiful place! I love visiting during Christmas time.

4. Bolton Orchards

About an hour from Boston, Bolton Orchards has over 25 varieties of apples for the picking! They also have a fantastic farm stand and serve up ice cream if you go on a warmer fall day.

5. Wilson Farms

Just in it for the donuts? Wilson’s Farm is just a 20 minute right outside the city. They don’t have Apple picking but they have a hay maze, pumpkins, and all the fall foods you could imagine. There fresh apple cider donuts are a must!

My favorite place to go is definitely Honey Pot Hills but there are so many great options out there. I love going out and supporting local farms every falls. Where is your favorite place to go apple picking?
