If you’re in the Boston area and you haven’t been to the Arnold Arboretum you’re missing out! This time or year especially, all the leaves are changing and it is picturesque Autumn. This week I️ went for a walk with my friend Maddie and her dog Hamilton, it was a little cold but we had a great time! If you take the orange line to Forest Hills the Arboretum is literally right across the street. You can bring your furry friend as long as they are on a leash, and it’s a hefty fine if they catch a dog off leash so definitely keep them on! I️ wore one of my favorite J. Crew vests (similar), I️ love the polka dots! I️ kept warm with this great plaid scarf from Primark, right now they have tons of blanket scarfs in all different patterns for just $5! I️ got three or four the last time I️ was in there. My leggings are also from primark, I️ will say the quality is not fantastic but for $3 they’re a no-brainer.
I feel like November is always a good time to look back on the year and reflect. My birthday is November 16th so I’m one year older this month, it is also right before we all get caught up in the craziness of the holidays. This year November is going to be a busy month for me but I’m very excited.
I’ve been feeling a little stressed about work and school lately. There is just so much going on and I’m really looking forward to taking sometime for myself this month. I’ll be doing some traveling and celebrating my birthday, what does everyone else do to relax?
While October often gets credit as “peak foliage” month this year the weather has been very warm so the leaves in Boston and southern New England are peaking right now. I love strolling through the public gardens on the last few warm days enjoying the leaves as they change.

“I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, the ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea- whether it is to sail or to watch it- we are going back from whence we came.” -JFK
Nothing like a few days by the sea to revive the soul. I get so stressed about work and school that sometimes I just need time to unwind and relax.

Boston is full of hidden gems, that’s one of the many reasons I love this city! Recently I have been looking for out door places that I can go and relax. Don’t get me wrong I love the Common and the Public Gardens but they’re both always so run down with tourists. I wanted some where quiet and relaxing with not as many people. I stumbled upon the Emerald Necklace Conservancy a organization of parks in Boston. I went and visited the Kelleher Rose Garden this weekend and it was beautiful! The roses aren’t even in full bloom yet but the lush oasis tucked away in the Back Bay is just the pick me up I needed! There are 8 parks that make up the Conservancy and they are all worth a visit. Definitely take the time to visit this summer! I love this dress from Primark! If you haven’t been to the downtown crossing location you should absolutely go! My belt is super old from J.Crew, it was actuLly one of this first things I ever bought from J.Crew! I stole these wedges from my older sister, the best place to shop is someone else’s closet!
Thanks all for reading and thanks to my friend Jess for taking these photos! Be sure to check out Jess’s blog Charming Bitch.
