Holiday Shopping Guide

Two words: Tartan Everything! I love dressing for the holidays, the rest of winter in New England can be pretty depressing so I take full advantage of the bright, colorful, fun outfits that come out every holiday. This year I picked out a few favorites that I wanted to share with you all.

1.Sail to Sable Tunic Top: this tunic is perfect for all your holiday occasions. It can be dressed up or down, the velvet color adds a little extra something. It is also super comfy and the long sleeves keep it appropriate for when the weather gets cold and snowy.  Limited stock in my Red Tunic but the is also available in the Navy Plaid version! 5D2246B3-DFA6-413D-A87D-695DA63441EF

2.Vineyard Vines Holiday Plaid Dress: I love the bell sleeve on this dress. A basic shift it is flattering on many different body shapes, and the plaid is holiday perfection! VV did a similar version on this dress in a Black Watch Plaid a couple of years ago that I was obsessed with! It even comes in a “Mommy and Me” version if you’re looking to match.

3.Cozy Fairisle Sweater from VV: I am constantly looking for holiday wear that I can keep wearing January-February. This sweater is just that, a cashmere blend that is super soft. 729BB4CE-B4BA-4410-9ABA-DE5AB6E4709E

4. J.Crew Velvet Jumpsuit: I have to say it has taken me a while to come around to the Jumpsuit trend, but I’m finally here and I am loving it. This one is so classic, perfect for any holiday party you have this season. Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 4.23.29 PM.png

5. Plaid Ponte Pants from VV: First things first, Ponte pants are ridiculously comfortable! Plus these are plaid and have an adorable bow on the front? I told myself I would not buy yet another pair of plaid pants this year, but that is so not happening because I NEED these in my life!

Gift Guide for Her

If you’re like me there are a lot of ladies in your life you need to shop for this holiday season. From mothers and sisters, to your best friend, girlfriend, or coworker, it can be daunting where to begin! So lets start with the basics:

Wine! It makes the perfect hostess gift for all the holiday parties you attend and for that co-worker that keeps you sane Monday through Friday year round. A lot of people in my life get wine.

Slippers! Who has ever hated warm fuzzy slippers? For us mere peasants that don’t have heated floors (seriously when I win the lottery, heated floors are at the top of my list), a good pair of slippers are essential for getting through the winter. I love my L.L. Bean slippers, they are amazing quality! I’ve had mine for a couple years and they’re still in great shape. If you’re looking for a less expensive option these J.Crew ones come in multiple colors and patterns. Perfect for literally anyone, Mom, sisters, and friends will all be thrilled at a new pair of quality slippers! Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 2.32.07 PM.png

Jewelry! If you’re looking to get something extra special for a lady in your life you can never go wrong with something that sparkles. A few years ago Mike go me a pair of Pearl Studs and they are to this day one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. Whether it’s a pair of diamond studs, a tennis bracelet, or something unique to her, she will treasure it for years to come.

Now for the not so basic ladies in your life!

The Skincare Junkie! If you’re looking for something quick an easy she will love a Sephora Gift card or a gift card to get a facial or eyelash extensions at her favorite spa. Now if you’re not into giving gift cards there is: The Drunk Elephant Precious Cargo Kit, or these Silk Pillow Cases! I know what you’re thinking, pillow cases? But every skincare, beauty, of hair junkie out there knows that silk pillow cases are a game changer!Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 4.33.49 PM.png

The Adventure Seeker! This Wifi Hotspot is perfect for all the travelers in your life, this way you can be jealous of their latest post regardless of what country there in, because now they’ll always have reliable wifi! A Personalized Leather Passport Cover is also a great go to for the Jet-Setter in your life. Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 4.31.40 PM.png

The Fitness Fanatic! Get her something that will make it easy to roll out of bed to go to the gym first think in the morning. I died when I saw this Self-Cleaning Reusable Water Bottle, how cool is that? It may be expensive but you can feel good about it because a % of the profits go to For The Planet. If you’re looking to spend a little less, go with a Foam Roller, everyone who works out should be regularly foam rolling, its life changing! Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 4.32.35 PM.png

The Homebody! I like to think of myself as a really outgoing person but at the end of the day I love to sit at home with my Netflix (now Disney+) and a glass of wine (see first suggestion in this post.) For my fellow homebodies I would highly recommend a Weighted Blanket, a few different options here, here, and here. I would personally go with one that has a “cooling” feature, I am constantly over heated. Another great option is a streaming service. If your homebody doesn’t already have Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+ get them a one-year subscription. I personally have all three and don’t know how I would live without. (By ‘have’ I of course mean use my sister’s login because she is a saint!) Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 4.32.10 PM.png

I hope you found this guide helpful, like I said The Basics at top would be great for anyone in your life but if you’re looking to get something a little more creative there are some great options for every type of woman. Let me know what is at the top of your wishlist this year, and be sure to follow me on Instagram for more great gift suggestions.

The Perfect Christmas Eve Outfit

In my family Christmas Eve is a bit more casual. We relax, go out for Chinese food, and just hang out. I still like to dress festive but I go a little more casual. I love these vineyard vines pants, they are super festive and they are now on sale just in time for Christmas! I paired them with a simple grey sweater, this cashmere is so soft and warm! The tartan cuffs on the sleeve are probably my favorite part of the whole outfit. This look is perfect for my friends in the Northeast, the cashmere is so warm and pants are perfect for those freezing nights! Festive yet casual perfection.

I have a few pairs of tartan pants and I love the color on these. They ran a little small so I would size up! Vineyard Vines did such a great job on their holiday line this year! Big thanks to vineyard vines for making sure I looked my best this holiday season, as always all opinions are my own.

My coat is J.Crew, unfortunately it is currently sold out but J.Crew always has a bunch of great coat options, and my shoes are from Talbots!

My favorite PJs

I don’t know what it is about the Holidays but I always want pajamas. During the summer I tend to grab what ever T-shirt I have laying around, but the second it gets cold out and we start to play Christmas music I am on the hunt for a cute pair of holiday pjs. This year I got the vineyard vines black watch pajama set. The flannel fabric is super soft and perfect for keeping you warm throughout the winter.

Thank you vineyard vines for the adorable PJs be sure to shop your favorites before they sell out! Vineyard Vines is current doing a free gift with purchase of $200+.

Fondue Express at Ocean House RI

This weekend I had the most amazing experience at Ocean House RI! They recently launched their brand new Fondue Express, they converted an old ski gondola into the most adorable champagne and fondue pop-up restaurant. It was decked out with fur pillows, antler chandelier, and plenty of Veuve Clicquot!

Ocean House is such a special property, it opened in 1869! In 2003 the original Ocean House was closed, unfortunately unable to be repaired. A historical replicate was built in its place with all the modern amenities we love! Ocean House is filled with pieces from the original and has the most amazing private art collection I have ever seen. Beyond it’s beauty Ocean House provides 5 star service, 5 star food, and 5 star spa services. One of only thirteen triple 5 star hotels in the world! I love visiting New England gems like Ocean House. If you are looking for a romantic couples getaway, or a fun girls weekend, I highly recommend the Ocean House’s Fondue Express. This is a one of a kind experience that you will not get anywhere else in the world! We had an amazing time, thank you so much to Ocean House for hosting me, Lana, Kara, and Laura. And double thank you to Laura for being an amazing photographer! A fun girls weekend is the perfect way to brave the cold!
